Sparta Coach Andrew Cuppett named Competitive coach of year
Andrew Cuppett has been named the competitive coach of the year at this years UYSA Annual General Meeting.
Andrew has been coaching on the girls side of Sparta for a number of years now. He is well liked and admired by his peers and his players alike. He has an innate ability to relate not only to the older girls but to the younger girls as well. He is well known for his ability to read the game and break down the things that his players need to focus on. He has the ability to teach at a very basic level as well as the most complex. He has taught many younger girls the art of juggling, by making it a fun game and starting with the simple and easy steps. He has also taught the older girls some of the most complex tactics of the game, again by making it fun.
When on the field, Andrew is always calm and focused. He has taught his players that when losing to not focus on officiating and when winning to be respectful and not become prideful.
He is very patient, committed, diligent and passionate about the game.
We would like to congratulate Andrew on a job well done.
Andrew’s name has now been submitted to Region IV for Coach of the Year for the region. We wish him luck.
